Carlos Carvalhal has revealed that one member of his Sheffield Wednesday squad has asked to leave the club on loan.
The Owls head coach has told several players they have been made available for a departure but says one player personally requested a move earlier this month.
“One player asked me to on loan because he wanted to be useful and he thinks he does not have the chance to play as much as he would want,” Carvalhal told the Star.
“He asked me two or three weeks to go on loan to play.
“The players that can leave know from myself.
“Of course, in these situations it is difficult for the players to be in the 18 because they have their heads outside of Sheffield Wednesday.”
Carvalhal refused to divulge the identity of the player in question.
Stevie May and Darryl Lachman are two high-profile players to have yet to be included in a Wednesday matchday squad so far this season with both understood to be out of favour.
Claude Dielna and Filipe Melo have also yet to feature but both suffered injuries in pre-season.
Carvalhal says he does expect players to leave before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
