Sheffield Wednesday have announced the appointment of Paul Senior as advisor to the club.

Senior joins last month’s appointments Glenn Roeder and Adam Pearson in forming a sporting director committee alongside Owls head coach Stuart Gray.

Senior has previously worked with Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Charlton Athletic in a number of roles.

He has established scouting networks in more than 80 countries.

The news came on the day the Owls announced they were to release 11 players and offer new contracts to five out-of-contract squad members.
