Dave Jones is relieved not to have received a call from Hull asking for Matty Fryatt to be sent back early from his Hillsborough stay.

Fears that the striker’s loan spell could be cut short have circulated since Sone Aluko became the latest in a series of Tigers players to be injured.

Hull can recall Fryatt at 24 hours’ notice, but it is thought that boss Steve Bruce so far still believes he can manage without him.

Jones told The Star: “There has been no indication that Hull want to recall him early.”

Fryatt is on record as saying: “While I’d like to think I’d be able to play in the only division I haven’t played and scored in (the Premier League), I don’t think I’m going to be featuring at Hull any time soon.

“The club got promoted last season and I missed most of it because of injury. That’s football. Since I’ve come here I’ve got on well with everyone and the management have been really good to me. I’m enjoying it and just grateful to be playing.”
