Sheffield Wednesday have suffered yet another injury blow after midfielder Barry Bannan was ruled out for a couple of weeks due a knee problem.
Bannan, nominated for the Championship's October Player of the Month award, sustained the injury in the closing stages of Saturday's 3-1 loss away to Charlton Athletic.
The Scotland international closed down Addicks substitute Tareiq Holmes-Dennis and lunged for the ball but got his foot stuck in the turf.
Bannan went to see a specialist in London last night. Although the injury is not as bad as first feared, the former Crystal Palace player is set to miss Wednesday's clash with Huddersfield Town after the two-week international break.
Wednesday will have to make two changes to their midfield, with Bannan sidelined and Sam Hutchinson set to serve the first of a two-match suspension.
Several Owls players are currently receiving treatment, including Keiren Westwood (ankle), Jack Hunt and Michael Turner (both knee).
