Sheffield Wednesday: Owls centre halves ruled out

Centre backs Glenn Loovens and Oguchi Onyewu will miss tomorrow’s match at Nottingham Forest and the Owls will probably start with the back four that finished at Leicester, said boss Stuart Gray today.

Loovens is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks with his hamstring injury, Onyewu for around two weeks owing to his back problem.

They were replaced in the centre-half spots by Miguel Llera, who went on as a sub, and Lewis Buxton during last Friday’s game.

Adedeji Oshilaja would have been another possible contender tomorrow but he has a thigh strain, and midfielder Sam Hutchinson is almost certainly out because of illness.

Liam Palmer is set to continue as the right-back deputy for Buxton after being switched from midfield during the Leicester match.
