Stuart Gray is calling on Wednesday players to soothe his hurt over the home defeat against Doncaster by settling a score tomorrow and giving away fans another Yorkshire derby treat.
Gray wants a repeat of last month’s Huddersfield away win rather than a slip-up comparable to the Hillsborough one against Rovers.
“Doncaster got one over on us; we battered them and they nicked the game 1-0,” he said. “We got done on a counter-attack. So my challenge to the players is that for me to feel better we need to get three points.
“I saw Doncaster play Watford, they won 2-1 the other week. But we’re full of confidence, we’ve scored seven goals in the last two games, we’re playing well, we’ve got various scorers, players who are enjoying their football and playing with confidence.
“We go into the game with the belief that we can win and the belief that we have a very good squad who are rowing in the same direction.”
The Hillsborough result is Rovers’ only away win of the season; their only other chance of a league double will come at Leicester in their final game.
