Head coach Carlos Carvalhal dedicated their superb come-from-behind victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers to Owls chairman Dejphon Chansiri.

Thai businessman Chansiri, who travelled back to the UK last week, watched on as Wednesday thrashed Wolves 4-1 at Hillsborough after strikes from Fernando Forestieri (2), Daniel Pudil and Gary Hooper.

Victory ended Wednesday’s five-match winless run and lifted them back up to seventh, one point shy of the Championship play-off positions.

Carvalhal, whose side face top-six rivals Birmingham City and Middlesbrough over the festive period, said: “I want to dedicate the win to the chairman.

“He is very happy. He deserves that because has suffered a lot in our games.”

Question marks were raised over Carvalhal’s squad rotation policy and tactics following the Owls’ recent defeat at MK Dons but the Owls chief insists he has never felt under any pressure despite their dip in results.

“I have not felt stressed,” said Carvalhal, “The most important thing is to be balanced in the competition and not be under pressure when you lose.

“We can’t be too euphoric when we win and we can’t be too down when we lose, so we have to look forward.

“We can enjoy today but my mind is on the next game.”

Wednesday have suffered a defensive blow with the news that Michael Turner faces a minimum of a month on the sidelines after re-aggravating his knee injury. Sam Hutchinson deputised at centre-back as the Owls beat Wolves on home soil for the first time since September 1964.
