Sheffield Wednesday Dave Jones criticised his back four after the “poor goal” they conceded in their defeat to local rivals Doncaster Rovers, writes Dom Howson.
Federico Macheda notched his third goal in as many appearances in yesterday’s South Yorkshire derby to sentence the Owls to a second consecutive Championship loss. The result stretches Wednesday’s winless run to nine matches in all competitions.
Jones said: “It was a poor goal to give away.
“People have a responsibility to deal with that.
“We can’t allow someone to score four yards outside of the centre of the goal.”
Wednesday are third-from-bottom after picking up just four points this season. Jones men face a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday.
“It is hard for everybody at the moment,” he added.
