VIDEO: Sheffield Wednesday - Fixtures 2015/16

Sheffield Wednesday will entertain Championship newcomers Bristol City on the opening day of the 2015/16 season.

It promises to be a tough test for the Owls, who are searching for a new head coach following the sacking of Stuart Gray last week, as the Robins romped to the League One title last season.

Steve Cotterill’s men scored more than 100 goals in all competitions, kept 24 clean sheets and also lifted the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Managerless Wednesday go to Ipswich Town for their first away match on August 15. The Tractor Boys reached the semi-finals of the play-offs, losing over two legs to eventual winners and arch rivals Norwich City.

After the trip to Portman Road, the Owls welcome Reading to Hillsborough before a trip to Yorkshire neighbours Leeds United and they round off their August programme with a home encounter against beaten play-off finalists Middlesbrough.

Over the Christmas period, Wednesday host Birmingham City on Boxing Day and two days later head to Middlesbrough. Their first match in 2016 sees them travel to Fulham.

The Owls will head to Wolves on the final day of the season on May 7.
