VIDEO: Sheffield Wednesday’s Jack Hunt ‘loves beating Huddersfield’

Full-back Jack Hunt has described helping Sheffield Wednesday defeat his old club Huddersfield Town as “the best feeling ever”.

Trailing to a 53rd-minute Sean Scannell header, the Owls staged a superb late fightback, picking up maximum points after a brace by substitute Lucas Joao and a Kieran Lee strike.

It is the first time Wednesday have come from behind to pick up maximum points this season.

Hunt, who came through the ranks at Huddersfield, admitted: “I love beating them, it’s the best feeling ever. I absolutely love it.

“You could tell they were playing for a new manager and had a spring in their step. I thought they moved the ball very well. They caused us a few problems.

“We couldn’t get our shape and get the ball off them, they kept the ball really well. It took them to score for us to finally pull our finger out.

“When we did that, there was only going to be one outcome.”

He added: “The sign of a good team is when you win and don’t play well. For 70 minutes we didn’t play very well at all. But the last 20 minutes we did, and made it count.

“Lucas, in particular, came on and gave us a great outlet up front with his fresh legs. Two great goals, and that’s what strikers get paid for. They are match-winners.”

The 24-year-old, on a season long-loan deal from Crystal Palace, was baffled by Wednesday’s sluggish first-half performance.

“I don’t know why we were flat. You could say it’s credit to them,” said Hunt. “Our 4-4-2 couldn’t cope, although they didn’t really cause us many problems until the goal.

“That’s not good enough though, for us, at Hillsborough. We need to go and win the ball back and take the game to teams, rather than sit back and let them play like that on our pitch.”
