Former Rotherham United manager Jack Mansell has died, aged 88.
The Salford-born defender spent his playing days at Brighton, Cardiff and Portsmouth in the 40s and 50s before cutting his coaching teeth as a member of the backroom staff at Sheffield Wednesday.
Mansell then spent four years in Holland before returning to South Yorkshire and taking up the role of manager at Rotherham, where he oversaw what is regarded as one of the most entertaining Millers sides in their history.
Mansell would spend two years at Rotherham before hitching up in the US and then coming back to England to take charge at Reading for three productive seasons.
After spells in Turkey, Bahrain and Israel, Mansell's last job was at Maccabi Haifa, whom he left in 1983.
