STEVE Evans, the Rotherham United manager, is thrilled star striker Lewis Grabban has turned down a move to Crawley Town.

The Millers accepted a six figure bid last week for Grabban, who struck 21 goals in the 2011/12 season, but he has opted to stay at the League Two club after failing to agree personal terms with the Red Devils.

Evans, who has expressed an interest in signing Crawley goalkeeper Scott Shearer, said: “Lewis is a big part of what we are trying to do here. He is a top class footballer and I am delighted he remains a Rotherham player.”

Rotherham have released Michael Raynes. The lanky centre-back made 35 appearances in all competitions.
