ON THIS DAY: Sheffield United beat Arsenal at Bramall Lane
Back in 2006 Sheffield United made sure they finished the year on a high by beating Arsenal 1-0 in front of over 32,000 spectators at Bramall Lane
The goal scorer on the day was Christian Nade who got the better of Kolo Toure before sidefooting past an onrushing Jens Lehmann just before half-time.
After the game United boss Neil Warnock said "It was probably the proudest moment since I became a manager, with the crowd and the atmosphere.
"We won tackles, the goal was super and the crowd were brilliant. It was a great result."
The game also saw the Blades survive over half an hour with midfielder Phil Jagielka in goal after Paddy Kenny went off injured. Warnock joked "I didn't panic when he (Jagielka) went in goal, he doesn't get worried and neither do I. It's the only chance he's got of being man-of-the-match."
The result saw the Blades climb to 15th in the Premiership table, however Warnock's men were relegated on the final game of the season, losing 2-1 to Wigan.
