It was an indifferent weekend for Sheffield Hallam women’s first team, who beat Longridge 3-2 on Saturday but lost by the same scoreline on Sunday to Bowdon.
Consequently Hallam dropped to fifth, but as Bowdon, Durham and Whitley Bay cannot get promoted, the promotion battle remains between Hallam and Kendal.
Both sides have two games left - Hallam have to play bottom club Wigton, and then the the two sides meet at Abbeydale on Saturday.
If Kendal win their game against Longridge, they win the title - if they lose, it all goes to that final game.
A hat-trick from Sandie Lockley, meanwhile, helped Sheffield to an 8-2 win over Otliensians.
Vikki Lawrence added two, and there was a goal each for Elaine Livera and Nicki Best, in her final game.
An own goal further compounded Otliensians’ misery.
Hallam’s third team dropped to the bottom of Yorkshire Division Two after two defeats in the space of two days last weekend.
On Saturday, despite another goal from star player Jemima Board, Hallam went down 3-2 to Garforth.
And on Sunday, they crashed 4-0 to Bridlington.
This weekend, they travel to Northallerton - and need at least a draw to keep alive their hopes of avoiding relegation.
