The Northern Track and Field League gets underway on Sunday with the first in the four-round competition.

City of Sheffield and Dearne AC won Division 2EC last year and compete in the same division, meeting Bingley, Chesterfield, Leeds, Rotherham and Scunthorpe. The British men’s league doesn’t start until next week so Sheffield should field some leading athletes at Spinkhill.

Doncaster AC and Hallamshire are in Division 3EC along with Cleethorpes, Grantham, Lincoln Wellington and Longwood. Barnsley AC, in Division 4EC, have a home fixture at Cudworth with Wombwell also in that fixture.

The Young Athletes Development League (U15 and U13) begins tomorrow. City of Sheffield and Dearne won Northern Premier 2 last year and take their place in Premier 1 where they meet Liverpool, Preston, Sale, Wirral and Harrogate. They start with a home match at Woodbourn Road. DoncasterAC and Chesterfield are in Premier 2 at Carlisle. Hallamshire and Rotherham are in Division East 1 at Middlesbrough.
