It was business as usual for Hallam’s first team as they registered a resounding 6-1 win over Khalsa.

Phil Roper’s hat-trick, his second of the season, saw Hallam well on their way.

Greg Nolan, Gareth Furlong and Duncan Longson also got on the scoresheet as Christy Walkin capped his first EHL start with an accomplished performance.

Next Sunday Hallam play Doncaster at Abbeydale Park (1.30pm) and Hallam’s loyal band of spectators can anticipate a probable goal fest.

Hallam’s second team lost 3-2 to Urmston, with Adam Harriman and Nick Sims scoring.

Sunday’s game against Newcastle University was once again a victim of the weather.

Runaway leaders Ben Rhydding visit Abbeydale Park next Saturday.

Hallam’s thirds beat Boston Spa 4-2, with goals from Adam Farley, Rob Ward, Ed Cant and Will Lacey.

Their fourths, however, lost twice last weekend as they search for their first points of 2013.

First, they lost 7-1 to Brigg on Saturday, and then 3-1 to York Uni on Sunday.

The fifth team lost 3-1 to Rotherham, and the sixths beat Brigg 6-1 thanks to a five-timer from Dom Dunn.

This weekend they face high-scoring Driffield (11.45am).

Hallam’s sevenths also beat their counterparts from Brigg, by a 5-3 scoreline.

Richard Yardley and James Bunday both scored two each, and Ben Driver rounded off the win.
