Sheffield Predators are ready to write a new chapter for American Football in the city.
Last season was very much a learning curve for the team as they embarked on their inaugural campaign in National Central Division 2 which resulted in a played 10, lost 10 outcome.
Since then ‘change’ has been the name of the game with a new head coach and a number of significant signings on the playing side.
Richard Batty, who has taken over as head coach, has a wealth of experience in the game. He has already formed links with the youth team, Sheffield Tomahawks to launch the Sheffield American Football Academy.
Playing-wise, one of the major new faces is Sheffield-born David Saul, a product of the Tomahawks youth programme who had been plying his trade in the Premiership. However the GB Lion and former British University MVP, has decided to drop down the divisions to play for his home town club and his experience will be invaluable.
