Sheffield Eagles coach Mark Aston is set to make changes for the crucial early season clash at Halifax tomorrow.

Both clubs have made an indifferent start with one win each and that’s raised the stakes.

“It’s one of those games; two teams that possibly thought they would be up at the top are down in the middle of the table,” said Aston.

“Halifax will be a little disappointed and there’s a bit of pressure on both of us and I’m sure that after our disappointment last week the boys will come out fighting. It could be a firecracker tomorrow.”

Aston is still searching for the right blend and, with players coming back from injury, is set to juggle the 17 for the game at the New Shay tomorrow, kick-off 3pm.

Back row forward Duane Straugheir is set for his first game of the season following surgery. New signing from amateurs Shaw Cross Shaun Squire will challenge Corey Hanson and Jon Ford for a place in the centres or on the bench. Back rower Will Hope (knee) is a doubt.
