Sheffield Eagles coach Mark Aston wants his team to keep the shock results for next week.

The priority for the Championship leaders is a win over struggling Swinton Lions tonight in their last game before the Challenge Cup semi-final.

“The players have been warned that places in the 17 to face London Broncos ride on how they perform,” he said. “It’s important that we have the right attitude. There will be a lot of people wanting to make sure they get a place against London.

“I want the win and people have to put their hands up against Swinton to stake a claim for the week after.”

The Eagles must extend their run of 14-straight wins, at Don Valley Stadium tonight, kick-off 7.30pm, to protect their one-point advantage at the top of the league. They hammered Swinton 52-20 early in the season but the Lions can call on loan players under their partnership with Super League club Warrington Wolves.

Eagles should have too much firepower with top try scorer Menzie Yere needing one to reach the 100 mark for the club. Forwards with Eddie Battye and Colton Roche are pushing for recalls.
