Sharks hoping for Tigers feat

SHEFFIELD Sharks will hope to build on last Friday’s BBL Cup quarter final victory over Glasgow Rocks with a Championship win at Mersey Tigers tomorrow evening.

Sharks stormed back from 13 points down at the end of the third quarter to beat Rocks 72-71 and set up a two-legged semi-final against Leicester Riders. It was a double-celebration for the club, which welcomed lottery winner Karen Child as a shareholder on the same day.

A league win is much-needed for Atiba Lyons’s side at the bottom-placed Tigers as they currently languish just one spot higher in the BBL table.

Meanwhile Sheffield Hatters travel to Nottingham Wildcats on Saturday in their first away match of the season.

Last Saturday they comfortably saw off Sevenoaks Suns at All Saints with Great Britain Olympian Julie Page scoring 23 points on her debut.
