Sheffield’s Monique Gladding to find out Games fate

SHEFFIELD diver Monique Gladding may find out today whether her Olympic Games dream will come true.

The 31-year-old 10 metre platform board specialist, who trains at Ponds Forge, has been waiting for the outcome of an appeal by fellow British diver Tonia Crouch over her selection to the team.

Crouch finished second at the Olympic trials in Sheffield earlier this month, but was overlooked in favour of Gladding, who was third.

Angered by the decision, Crouch appealed to British Diving who referred the matter to an independent panel.

That panel will meet today and the outcome maybe known later.
