SHEFFIELD Steeldogs expect to face an upgraded Bracknell Bees at iceSheffield tomorrow (7.30pm).
Andre Payette’s men recorded five wins out of the six the pair contested last season but four were one-goal games, with three of those going to overtime or shoot-outs.
Coach Payette said: “Bracknell have some dangerous players in Martin Massa and Lukas Smital and I’m expecting them to be improved team from last season.
“So as always in our games versus the Bees, I expect goals, fights and a really exciting game.
“Hopefully we can come out on top as it is very important to take the win in these combined League/Cup games.”
Steeldogs say they need to hit the ice running to avoid a repetition of last week’s games, which featured a 5-2 loss and a slow start overtime win.
Bees games have always been very competitive, high tempo and physical, with both teams racking up a similar number of penalty minutes last year.
Bees have not had a good start to the season, losing two pre-season games to Slough and then both league games to Guildford and Basingstoke.
