The former Czech international was beaten from close range by David Turon, a defenceman,

Before that, Sheffield had looked formidable, with winger Rob Dowd scoring after 80 seconds with a delightful back-hand.

Levi Nelson, one of the providers on the opening goal, made it 2-0 at 5;49 and it looked like Sheffield were in for a goals bonanza.

While they were pinned back by the Turon goal, there was only really one team in the first 20 minutes and the Scots must have been thankful they had not conceded more..

Yet Dundee levelled at 21;37, Brett Switzer scoring on a short-handed play.

The Scottish side kept a relentless series of Sheffield attacks off the scoreboard until Mathieu Roy batted an airborne puck past him at 32;52.

Dowd gave Sheffield some breathing room with his second of the night at 41;28 -a 4-2 lead was the least they deserved.

That's the way it stayed at the end of 60 minutes, at iceSheffield.
