DOUG Christiansen will resist any temptation to “tap up” talent for his new Sheffield Steelers’ club, while he is away with the Great Britain team on world championship duty.
The coach said: “I am actively looking for British players to bring to Sheffield, however, I will not be signing players while away with the national team. I want to make sure the players are focused on representing their country.
“The Steelers will have plenty of time to add British players after the tournament.”
GB have had a three-day training camp in Manchester and will fly to Hungary today ahead on Sunday’s opening game with the hosts in Budapest.
