Tigers trio Andre Compton, Ashley Birks and Jason Garrity have all been backed to make the cut in tonight’s British Semi-Final at Owlerton (7.30).
The meeting will see only the top seven progress to the British Final at Wolverhampton which is a gateway to Cardiff for the British Grand Prix for one rider.
Sheffield co-promoter Peter Mole says: “I wish our riders well” said Mole.
“There will be some hard luck stories, there will be jubilation and there will also be some fast and furious racing which we always get here at Owlerton.
“We’ve had some fantastic performances over the last couple of days with away wins over Ipswich and Redcar to put behind us the disappointment of our defeat at Somerset.
“It will be good to see Chris Harris back at Owlerton, I’m sure he will be one of the favourites but I recall last year how he had to scrape his way through.
“Andre, Ash and Jason have all played their part in a great few days for the club and I’m certain they can make it into the top seven tonight.
“As a club we are proud and honoured to be hosting a meeting like this and I believe it’s only right that a venue like ours gets top events.
“The Premier League Riders’ Championship is here every year and we are pleased to have a British Semi-Final. I’m looking forward to it.”
