ARGENTINIAN ace Facundo Albin is making Sheffield fixtures his priority this season.

Albin, who joined Tigers in December after originally making contact with Berwick, has pledged to make the Premier League top of his list when it comes to his busy schedule.

He still has a number of international commitments but he’s been desperate to be handed an opportunity in British racing and wants to take full advantage.

Tigers co-boss David Hoggart said: “Albin is the kind of rider we need. He is giving all his efforts to Sheffield and we are his top priority.

“He realised this is a big opportunity for him and he intends to grab it with both hands. He’s been waiting patiently for a chance in British racing and now he has it.

“I’m sure he will be spectacular around Sheffield and when he settles in our supporters will love seeing him in action. He’s beaten some top international performers in his home country.

“And he’s well aware that he might not get another chance if it doesn’t work out with us at Sheffield. We will work with him and try and make his time with us enjoyable.

“But he also knows there will be a demand for points placed on his shoulders and he will need to get into the swing of things fairly quickly.

“It’s good that we have a couple of League Cup fixtures before we go into the Premier League because when the league meetings start we need to hit the ground running.”
