Who will be the top gun at Owlerton?

SHEFFIELD host the annual Top Gun Individual meeting tonight and for some the prize could go beyond champion status - with a Tigers contract potentially on the table.

The meeting features some of the country’s best prospects and four riders new to Britain. Hungarian Roland Benko, Australian Hunter Anderson, New Zealander Hayden Sims and Argentine Jonathan Itture all get an opportunity to put themselves in the shop window and Tigers chief Neil Machin will be an interested onlooker.

Should those riders impress Machin, there is every chance they could be offered the chance to join the Sheffield set-up.

He said: “This year we’ve given the four young lads their chance to impress in a tough field, it will be a very worthwhile exercise. “If any of them look good enough then there could be a contract waiting for them. They’re all desperate to get rides over here and this is the ideal platform.” Fans will be interested in three Sheffield riders Adam Roynon, Damien Koppe and Facundo Albin.

They join the likes of Lewis Rose, Kyle Newman and Steve Worrall in what looks to be an intriguing meeting, and admission has been reduced to just £12.

Line up: Steve Worrall, Lewis Rose, Josh Bates, Kyle Newman, Hunter Anderson, Damien Koppe, Facundo Albin, Ryan Douglas, Roland Benko, Jonathan Itture, Hayden Sims, Matt Williamson, Liam Carr, Adam Roynon, Ben Hopwood.
