Four Sheffield music groups in concert
No less than four groups of Sheffield music makers are in concert on Saturday night (July 6).
Escafeld Chorale celebrate their 50th anniversary with a Summer Anniversary Concert.
The concert comprises a mixed programme featuring favourite pieces, from madrigals to musicals, including a composition by the choir’s founder, Ron Law.
Joining them will be three former associate soloists, Debra Finch. Rosie Williamson and Timothy Peters, and current soloist Sarah Leffler. The scheme offers young singers a bursary towards their studies and the opportunity to take part in concerts for a year.
The concert, at Holy Trinity Church, Millhouses, will be followed by a reception. Tickets: www.escafeldhorale.org.uk.
Go around the world in 80 minutes with the Sterndale Singers, with pianist Philip Collin, at Channing Hall, Surrey Street.
The music takes in Paris, Brindisi, Japan. Egypt, South America and New York. The mood is relaxed with themed cocktails and soft drinks available.
