First up, the people of the city are invited to attend a carnival-themed beach party this weekend that’s coming to the Malin Bridge Inn.

Soak up all the fun of the islands with carnival dancing shot girls, and a jam-packed cocktail menu, all available from 2pm Saturday right through until 2am Sunday.

Dance the day and night away to the sounds of the Steel Pan Band, which will be playing from 5.30pm to 8pm, with songs from musicians including Beyonce to ABBA, and Clean Bandit to Bob Marley – plus anything and everything in between, all with a Caribbean twist. Join staff in wearing carnival-themed costumes, drink cocktails out of sand buckets, and enjoy holiday and summer classics from the in-house DJ.

Join the fun of the Caribbean Carnival, which is open to all, and completely free entry. There will be a free shot for anyone wearing fancy dress. Children are welcome until 9pm.

- Also this weekend, enjoy a taste of reggae in Greenhill Park, as the Lowedges Festival introduces its reggae tent, with non-stop reggae playing this Sunday, from 12pm to 5pm. Listen to the sounds of The famous Macka B, PJ’s One Drop, Irie White, and many more. The tent is free entry all day, and those attending are welcome to BYO drinks.

- And finally, if you want to keep the Caribbean vibes flowing, head to Blues, on Spooner Street in Sheffield - the city’s no’s 1 venue for reggae, dancehall, R&B, afrobeats, and soul - for a Wiggle & Wine Blessed Friday Special.

Enjoy the very best beats from 9pm tomorrow, with DJ Blessed, DJ YT, and DJ Sassi-B. There will also be plenty of Caribbean food on the menu. Entry is free before 11.30pm, and happy hour runs from 7.30pm to 10pm, with 2-1-4 cocktails. The Caribbean fun will run until 3am. Dress code is smart casual.
