Scottish rockers Texas announce Sheffield show

Scottish pop-rockers Texas have announced an autumn tour in the UK '“ including a show in South Yorkshire '“ ahead of the release of their new album.

The band, fronted by singer Sharleen Spiteri, release their new album, Jump on Board, their ninth studio album and first in four years, on Friday, April 21.

Sharleen says: “We feel refreshed. We definitely had a great time making this record. It’s time to jig it all up.

“It’s like a new beginning. This is the next part of our story, and we’re loving it.”

Having sold more than 35 million records with three number-one albums, 7 top-10 albums and 13 top-10 singles – including Say What You Want, Black Eyed Boy, Summer Son and Inner Smile – Jump On Board looks set to continue their impressive chart attack.

Written and produced by Texas stalwarts Johnny McElhone and Sharleen, Jump on Board is the first new Texas studio album since The Conversation in 2013 and is described as “nothing short of a pop classic”.

And they have now announced 21-date UK tour to promote it, which includes a show at Sheffield City Hall on Saturday, September 16.
