Sheffield performers can make a request to play at Leopold Square Busk Stop
Leopold Square is repeating its Busk Stop entertainment series this summer and is looking for performers to take part.
David Freestone from Leopold Square said: “We launched Busk Stop last year and welcomed some fantastic local talent to Leopold Square, so we’re delighted to be bringing it back and giving the opportunity to more musicians to showcase what they can do.”
The Busk Stop series takes place in the square in the middle of several restaurants and bars between May and September.
It is open to artists who perform all genres of music.
Whether a guitarist wants to play their own songs, an acapella group would like to entertain visitors, or a classical quartet would like to bring something different, The Square would like to hear from them, said David.
Each busker will be given an hour-lomg performance set between 5pm and 7pm on a Friday and is welcome to collect donations from visitors and passers-by.
Musicians who would like to take part in Busk Stop simply need to email [email protected] sending through a short video, clip or link to their music.
All space must be pre-booked and terms and conditions can be viewed on Leopold Square’s website – www.leopoldsquare.com.
The square also regularly plays host to outdoor entertainment in the summer months that has proved very popular.
Plans are still being finalised but Leopold Square’s Summer of Live Music is returning with free live music every Saturday and Sunday between 2pm and 4.30pm from May until September.
The venue will also be hosting the popular Salsa in the Square event again, with a weekend of live outdoor entertainment on bank holidays weekends.
Look out for updates on the website and on social media.
