Doncaster’s new performance venue, Cast, is looking for people to take part in its opening celebrations.
The launch event, titled the Cast of Thousands, will take place on Sir Nigel Greasley Square, and Cast is calling on local performers to take part.
Choreographers Nathan Geering. Anna Olejnicki and Wayne Sables have joined forces to create a dance performance piece, and individuals, groups, choirs and dance crews are all encourage to join rehearsals for the Cast of Thousands.
Graham Whitehead, Head of marketing and communications at Cast said: “These are just the very first opportunities to be involved in performances here. Cast is more than a place where you can enjoy performances.”
“For those who want to, it’s a place to get in touch with your creative side.”
The Cast of Thousands event will also mark the launch of Right Up Our Street, which is a three year project that aims to get more people in Doncaster involved in the arts.
Doncaster duo, Rhiannon Shutt and Pete Sowerby, have also created a brand new anthem to mark the opening of Cast which will be unveilled at the opening celebrations.
Opportunities later in the season are also emerging - the first of those looks for toddlers and children to perform with balletLORENT, one of the UK’s leading contemporary ballet
companies, in their brand new ballet Rapunzel.
Repunzel will be performed in October half term, and budding performers should apply for an audition that takes place this month at Cast.
