Our region from the air and up close both impress.

I am truely overwhelmed this month. Not just with the amount of entries, but with the variety and with the quality of your photographs. It is a diverse mix of the best of our patch and ‘the great outdoors’ theme, and I am very pleased to be able to showcase so many of your photos this week. There are so many more I can’t use just yet unfortunately but thank you all for sharing them with me. I think the team at Harrison Cameras will have a hard task to pick our winners this month. I am also pleased to introduce our columnist this week. John Beadman is one of our regulars so it is nice to feature him. I will be publishing more of your columns in the coming weeks so feel free to contact me if you want to take part yourself.

I haven’t room this week to mention every image but need to at least talk about John Scholey’s ariel efforts. He said they were “taken on a flight in a four seater plane that I won by joining ‘The Friends of Portland Works’. John sent in a few different shots and shows how different things can look from another perspective. But you don’t all have to go to such great heights to get a different angle on your shots but you can still explore different angles of your subject.
