RENOWNED dance company Moscow City Ballet returns to the Lyceum Theatre next week with one of the world’s best-known ballets,
Swan Lake follows the fate of Prince Siegfried as he falls in love with the beautiful Swan Queen, Odette.
The magical ballet is performed in all its original splendour and features lavish sets, dazzling costumes and stunning choreography. Featuring some of the world’s finest dancers the ballet is performed beautifully to Tchaikovsky’s familiar score played live by Moscow City Ballet Orchestra.
Moscow City Ballet is celebrated for its impressive repertoire of full scale ballet classics, proving that Russian ‘big story’ ballet combines artistry, technique, narrative and live music. All elements combine to achieve the complete theatrical dancing experience for the audience. Audiences can expect not only to marvel at the precision of its corps de ballet but witness the excellent dexterity and grace of principal ballerinas Alevtina Lapshina and Liliya Oryekhova.
Founded by Victor Smirnov-Golovanov in 1988, Moscow City Ballet is one of Russia’s most successful and popular touring ballet companies, highly admired for its distinctive style, exciting choreography and exceptionally gifted dancers.
Touring the UK since the early 1990’s Moscow City Ballet consistently perform more than 100 shows annually to hundreds of thousands of ballet fans. The company has delighted audiences worldwide with its traditional ballets, proving that everyone enjoys a good story.

There are nightly performances of Swan Lake at the Lyceum Theatre from Tuesday until Saturday with matinees on Thursday and Saturday.
