Sheffield institution Baldwin’s Omega has closed its doors - but there is still the chance to snap up a piece of history.

The banqueting suite on Brincliffe Hill is due to be replaced with flats after planning permission was granted earlier this year.

David and Pauline Baldwin had run the venue - used for many high profile events - for 30 years.

After the closure they thanked customers from over the years and said they had ‘had a ball’.

This weekend there will be a closing down sale of items at the venue when everything from plates and cutlery to vases and candles will be on offer.

It takes place from 10am until 2pm this Friday August 3, Saturday August 4 and Sunday August 5.

Omega at Abbeydale is still open for fans.
