The heat was on for some of the city’s leading chefs, who went head-to-head in the first round of this summer’s Sheff’s Kitchen charity cook-off at Whirlow Hall Farm.

Jon Tite of the Showroom and Charlie Curran, of Peppercorn, were each challenged to cook a three-course meal for 40 diners, with proceeds going to the farm trust.

Judges, including Sheffield Telegraph food writer Lesley Draper, were impressed by the standard of skill and creativity, with dishes featuring smoked goat’s cheese with white chocolate, and a Cordon Bleu version of a Zoom ice lolly. Charlie finished just ahead on points and goes forward to the next round.
