An independent Sheffield burger restaurant has closed after two years in business.

80z Burger Company on Leopold Street announced it was shutting on social media.

A statement said: “After a fantastic two years in Sheffield, sadly we have decided to close our independent burger restaurant.”

The restaurant was the second opened by Barnsley man Dan Sharp.
It offered 30 different flavour combinations for burgers, including outlandish ones such as Japanese katsu curry or served inside waffles.

Elsewhere, the Veeno wine bar and cafe on Ecclesall Road, which only opened at the end of last year, has also shut its doors suddenly.

Musician Paul Pashley was due to perform there this week and informed his fans about the closure.

Deepak Jaiswal, director at Proove Ltd, said: “We can’t wait to open our new restaurant at Centertainment – this is a big new chapter for us as we spread our wings and bring our authentic product into an incredibly exciting, fast paced destination.

“We’re looking forward to finding our new Proove family at our specially devised auditions – it’s set to be an exciting few days!”
