Are you a cook?

Sort of. I have a few meals I do well- my Sunday dinners, chicken curry and spaghetti bolognaise are always well received at home, but I haven’t inflicted them on anyone else.

Any cooking tips?

My wife’s Yorkshire Pudding recipe makes them rise every time: equal portions of plain flour, milk and egg.

What’s your favourite dish?

Steak and ale pie (the George & Dragon at Wentworth do a really good one.)

And a drink to go with it?

A pint of Guinness or a gin & tonic currently. I like trying different flavours.

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?

Sadly it’s closed now, but I absolutely loved Froggy’s on London Road- the best food ever.

And pub?

My local the Colin Campbell in Kimberworth is a small friendly pub.

What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?

Cheese flan at a pub in Buxton. I think it had been warmed up five times in the microwave and was so much like concrete I just couldn’t eat it.

And the best?

Back to Froggy’s again. A tuna steak with roasted veg and the French chef’s garlic and cream potatoes.

Your favourite TV cook?

The late, great Keith Floyd- always the worse for wear when cooking.
