Christmas Singalaong, Firth Park, Sheffield

The Friends of Firth Park are holding this event tomorrow from 6pm to 7pm at the Ripples in the Pond area next to the Clock Tower on Firth Park Road.

Soup, mince pies ,fruit punch and mulled wine will all be available to keep out the cold of deep midwinter.

The crowd will be belting out Christmas songs but singing is not compulsory, if you prefer just to listen to everyone else.

Bring a torch or a lantern, say the Friends.

All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult and a collection will be made for a memorial engraved bench for Andrea Hardy, who died in the summer after many years of hard work and support for Firth Park.

On Saturday there’s a Brass and Carols concert with Deepcar Brass Band over at The Venue in Stocksbridge.

The event starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £6, available by calling TRe Venue on 0114 283 8692.

On Sunday at 6pm there’s an hour of carol singing in the wonderfully atmospheric setting of Upper Chapel on Norfolk Street in Sheffield city centre.

Entry is free for the event, featuring Stannington Brass Band.

The service will start outside by the front of the chapel.

After a short introduction and the opportunity to sing a carol with the band, everyone moves into the chapel for the remainder of the service.

If that sounds a bit too chilly for you, visitors can listen to the carol singers at the door and welcome them when they arrive instead.
