Given the fact the venue was full to its 8,000 capacity more than half-an-hour before the hip-hop legends took to the stage, it was clear something special was expected – and Public Enemy didn’t disappoint.

Despite the late afternoon heat and their advancing years, 53-year-old frontman Chuck D and rapper Flavor Flav, aged 55 – backed by DJ Lord on the turntables, musicians and two dancers in US Army gear – put on a show full of passion, energy and classic tracks for the crowd.

Hits such as Fight the Power and Bring the Noise had the crowd bouncing before the 60-minute set was over all too soon and the clearly-shattered Chuck D and crew dashed off to another show.
