Jimmy Cliff, who helped to popularise reggae and introduced the world to Bob Marley, has been speaking to The Star ahead of a rare appearance at The Plug in Sheffield on Monday, June 24.
We have three pairs of tickets to be won to see the legendary Jamaican musician, singer and actor, a rock and roll hall of famer, whose hits include the classic You Can Get It If You Really Want.
Many Rivers to Cross, Wonderful World, Beautiful People, The Harder They Come and Sitting in Limbo are amongst his other hits.

He told us: “I introduced Bob Marley to make his very first songs that he ever recorded - Judge Not, One Cup Of Coffee and Cheer Up. I chose those three for him and the rest of it is history.”
Jimmy added: “I wrote You Can Get It If You Really Want to give myself self-assurance, self-confidence and self-reliance. I’ve done that and put it into the lives of other people as well.
“I would like everyone to have a positive outlook on life, especially with all the negative things going on. Chose the positive road and it will make us feel better day to day.”
He will be singing hits, including tracks from his first album in eight years, Rebirth, which won this year’s Best Reggae Album Grammy Award.
Tickets for the Plug are £22. Doors 7pm. Buy in person at 14-16 Matilda Street, Sheffield S1 4QD, call 0114 241 3040 or visit www.the-plug.com.
