BY George, he’s back! And it’s no careless whisper – we’ve got 10 top tickets to be won to see pop superstar George Michael’s rescheduled concert at Sheffield Motorpoint Arena.
Fresh from his performance at the London 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony last month, the ex-Wham! legend has resumed his European and UK Symphonica tour.
He has fully recovered from a near-fatal bout of pneumonia which forced him to postpone his concerts last year.
Now fighting fit – and getting rave reviews – he’s completed European dates and is making a triumphant return to Sheffield on Monday, October 1.
It is only his third solo tour proper in a 30-year career and the last time he performed in Sheffield was years ago with Andrew Ridgeley in Wham! at the City Hall.
The Symphonica tour has him performing his own material and covers with an orchestra.
The star, who has sold over 120 million records, returned to the stage at Wiener Stadthalle theatre in Vienna, where he fell ill last November.
He sang renditions of Rufus Wainwright’s Going To A Town and Sting’s Roxanne as well as his own hits.
Michael also performed new single White Light, inspired by his near-death experience.
By combining an unparalleled voice, the Symphonic orchestra, and a tantalising promise to include songs never previously performed, his latest live show is a magical experience awaiting fans and critics alike.
