The Girls Just Want To Have Fun chameleon has gone back to her roots with a new critically-acclaimed blues album, called Memphis Blues.

It may not be the style of music you instantly associate with the 80s icon - the original Lady Gaga - but she was raised on music by the likes of Billie Holiday.

Her eleventh studio album is an 11-track collection of blues standards featuring harmonica master Charlie Musslewhite, guitar legend BB King and more.

Recorded in Memphis, it debuted and held the top spot on Billboard’s Blues Albums Chart for 14 weeks.

Fans can also expect bluesed-up versions of her greatest hits on the Memphis Blues world tour.

The True Colours and Time After Time hitmaker, famed for the grit in her voice and a swagger on stage, has sold more than 25 millions records over three decades. She told The Star: “I’ve wanted to make this album for years,

“Now we’re looking forward to touring it an playing the songs live.”
