And they’re off...with pop superstars The Saturdays and Lawson on the same bill to entertain live after the racing at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday, May 18, writes Graham Walker.
To celebrate we have a dream prize.
One lucky reader and a guest will go backstage for a champagne reception to meet both bands and get tickets for the show.
Four other winners get a pair of standard admission tickets each to the pop event that’s not to be missed.
The Saturdays, an English-Irish girl group, features Una Healy, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford and Vanessa White. They have released three studio albums, two EPs and 14 singles, including top 10 hits If This Is Love, Just Can’t Get Enough, All Fired Up, 30 Days and chart-topper What About Us.
They’ve had their own American reality TV series, Chasing The Saturdays, appeared on TV soap Hollyoaks and have their own nail polish collection, through Superdrug.
Guitar band Lawson consists of Chesterfield’s own Ryan Fletcher on bass guitar and backing vocals, Mansfield’s Joel Peat on lead guitar and backing vocals, Andy Brown on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, and Adam Pitts on drums. They are currently based in London.
Debut album, Chapman Square, reached number four in the charts and they’ve had three top five hits with When She Was Mine, Taking Over Me and Standing in the Dark.
Other big name pop acts are being lined up to appear at the venue, including Ronan Keating, on Saturday, June 29.
Guarantee your Doncaster Racecourse tickets for The Saturdays and Lawson, which also include admission to the racing, at £30 and £40, or £11 for children under 17. Tickets may be subject to a booking fee. Children must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of three per adult.
