Sheffield Theatres is in the running to take centre stage in one of the art industry’s top awards once again.

The venues have been shortlisted for the Regional Theatre of the Year award in The Stage’s Top 100 Awards nominations.

The award, which it won last year, recognises the success of arts organisations outside of London.

A spokesman for the judging panel said: “Factor in the production of a new musical – This is My Family featuring Siân Phillips – a tour of The Full Monty with confirmation of a 16-week West End transfer next year, and a successful run of My Fair Lady starring Dominic West, and it’s not surprising that The Stage’s 2013 regional venue of the year, Sheffield Theatres, is in the running again.”

Meanwhile, chief executive Dan Bates and artistic director Daniel Evans appear in The Stage 100 ‘Power List’ at number 11, moving up from 18 last year.

Dan said: “We were so proud to hold the title of Regional Theatre of the Year 2013 and are thrilled to be shortlisted for the award for a second time. All of this success is only possible thanks to the hard work of the Sheffield Theatres team and the passionate support of our audiences.”

The award winners will be announced at a special event in London on January 31.
