DRAGON (WU XIA): a village worker hides a dark secret in Peter Chan’s martial arts thriller after becoming a hero for fighting off two bandits arousing the suspicions of a detective who begins to wonder who he really is (Cert 15, Cineworld).

Gimme the Loot: Adam Leon’s low-budget drama is set over two hot summer days in New York and follows teen graffiti artists Ty Hickson and Tashiana Washington on an adventure to raise $500 by various underhand schemes to fund their attempt to tag an iconic landmark (Cert 15, Showroom).

I’m So Excited: Pedro Almovodar’s camp comic romp in which the crew and passengers of an airliner in peril use what could be their final hours with drinking, confessions and lots of sex (Cert 15, Showroom, Cineworld).

In the Fog: Sergei Loznitsa’s poweful drama from the Russian front in 1942in which a captured member of the partisans is wrongly suspected of treason after a Nazi officer sets him free and his comrades arrive to take revenge, forcing him to make a moral choice (Cert 12A, Showroom).

21 AND OVER: comedy written and directed by the creators of The Hangover, Jon Lucas and Scott Moore in which on the eve of a medical school interview that will shape his future, straight-A college student Justin Chon is taken out by best mates Skylar Astin and Miles Teller for a quick beer to celebrate his 21st birthday which turns into a night of humiliation, chaos, nudity, bottom-branding, guns and debauchery that may well change their paths forever (Cert 15,, Odeon, Cineworld, Vue).
