From Miami to New York – where would you go?
Now UK visitors are able to travel to the US for the first time in nearly two years, travellers are eager to celebrate the holiday season in the States.

Thanks to countless films and television series, many of us can envision what the holiday season looks like in America. Most of us think of New York City, and rightly so, as the city takes the holiday season very seriously, with events like the Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Centre and the Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular.

However, there are many cities throughout the country that celebrate in their own special way.

There is no shortage of cool places to celebrate throughout the USA. One of the first steps needed to travel to the USA is to apply for the USA ESTA. The ESTA application form can be easily filled in online and usually doesn’t take more than 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The application can be filled out for just one individual, or for a group of up to 10 people, making a family holiday much easier.

Once this part is covered, you can decide which part of the USA you would like to visit.

Nashville, Tennessee

There are plenty of things to do, and you get that winter experience, but it is generally less cold than New York City.

Why not try the North Pole experience at Tennessee Central Railway Museum, check out the tree lighting at Country Hall of Fame or just soak up some live music at local bars and honky-tonks.

Aspen, Colorado

Most of Colorado in December oozes Christmas charm, and Aspen is no exception. There are plenty of events throughout the city, including a 12 days of Christmas celebration, and the resort is celebrating its 75th anniversary.

Of course, it’s mainly about the skiing and for good reason: Aspen boasts 5,500+ acres of pristine terrain but there are also plenty of other activities to enjoy, like tubing, snowbike lessons or a ride on the breath-taking Alpine Coaster.

Miami, Florida

If you are looking for the opposite of a white Christmas, but still want the charm, fun, beautiful lights and celebrations, then Miami is the city for you. This bright and breezy gem of a city offers the best of both worlds, with beaches and sunshine as well as lots of great spots for festive shopping – and celebrating. Because of the large Hispanic influence, for many in Miami the most special day of the holiday season is actually Christmas Eve which is called Noche Buena. Noche Buena is usually celebrated with a large feast, lots of dancing and general celebration. Find a Cuban restaurant or venue and spend Christmas Eve salsa dancing the night away!

Before you travel

After a long period of lockdown, it is on everyone’s mind to get away and experience something totally different. Luckily, even though the holidays are only a month away, the visa does not take very long to obtain.

On average, the ESTA can be approved well within 72 hours. If you apply for an urgent ESTA application, it will be even faster. This of course is subject to the US government’s discretion.

Luckily, most general travellers qualify for the ESTA, and it is very quick to double-check if you do qualify.

The entire application and granting of the ESTA is done online, making the process smooth and easy, giving you time to focus more on your travel itinerary and wishes.
