Four in court over suspected drug production in Rotherham

Four people have appeared in court over suspected drug production following a multi-agency investigation in the Broom area of Rotherham.

Nehdi Tajabidi, aged 31, of Broom Valley Road, Rotherham, Mehdi Esmacpoor, 38, of Farm Drive, Rawmarsh, Luliana Otaraseanu, 30, of Manor Fields Close, Kimberworth, and 30-year-old Mohammed Chernarli of Mary Hill Road, Glasgow, appeared before Rotherham Magistrates’ Court today charged with conspiracy to produce Class A drugs.

South Yorkshire Police, supported by officers from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Rotherham Council, carried out a raid at a property on Broom Valley Road on Tuesday, May 24.

A quantity of suspected controlled drugs were seized during the operation.

All four have been remanded in custody and will next to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday, June 23.
