Friends and family of a Sheffield woman currently undergoing treatment in America after a life-threatening illness was misdiagnosed have raised over £14,000 to fund treatment.
Vanessa Boyd, aged 28, is being treated for Lyme Disease after she says medics wrongly diagnosed her as having depression for 12 years.
The former engineer said: “After being told so many times that I was depressed and there was nothing wrong with me, I started to believe it. I was thinking ‘Am I crazy?’ and began to believe it was all in my head.”
