The man-mountain Kosovan, who on Saturday scored his 49th and 50th goals for the club in their 5-3 defeat at Fulham, is out of contract at the end of the season and so may line up in Wednesday colours for the final time against Middlesbrough this week.
Together with Kieran Lee and back-up goalkeeper Paul Jones, Nuhiu agreed to extend his contract beyond the terms of his original deal in order to complete the extended season.

Asked about Nuhiu’s future after a star turn substitute performance, Owls boss Garry Monk said that he had yet to consider the possibility of offering him a new contract.
“I just need to get to the end of this period,” he said. “Everything has been so manic and it’s been very hard to focus on anything but these games.
“We’ve still got another game left, we need to get all that work done, focus only on that. Those three points are the only thing we need to think about right now, from this last game.

“I can’t talk about all of those things right now, we’re still in this congested period and now with this one game left we have to put our focus into that.
“After that decisions will be made.”
As it stands Jordan Rhodes, sidelined by Monk in the Owls’ last three matches, is the only first-team striker under contract beyond the end of the season.
This weekend Monk reiterated the need for a change of personnel within the changing room after individual mistakes once again cost them dear.
